"The Prison Me" WMV version (12 MB)

Video shot by Kelley Schwab

The Prison Me

I stand naked on the ramparts looking downward
on the world of men, and men's devices
And I shout onto the boiling mob to listen
to the heart that beats within.
It seems distraction has become our lone bedfellow
as we waste our time on material pursuits,...
but the words fall short and bounce around to echo
alone inside my skull

Only the wind blows free, around the Prison Me

So I track across the paths of human history
to define who we are and what is our reason
we seem to strive to try and reach a fulcrum
that will deliver us to some final purpose
but distractions have become our loved bedfellows
as we blindly grope to climb

Only the wind blows free, around the Prison Me

I stand naked on the ramparts looking downward
at the mess we've made of man
but the words fall short and bounce around, my efforts
are tossed into the can again

Only the wind blows free, around the Prison Me
